Creating And Using Events

Put what's happening in your projects on the calendar, like a shoot day, an opening or a deadline, with its time, place and the people involved. Events show on your calendar and on timelines.

Creating An Event

Add an event from the Calendar page, or from a Timeline on a project page.

  1. On the Calendar page, click a day or a time, or press N or ⌥ / Alt + E
  2. Add the event's details. It saves as you go, so there's no Save button
  3. Click Close when you're done

Until the event's been saved the first time, the button at the bottom says Cancel, and clicking it closes the event without creating it.

An Event's Details

An event needs a title and its dates. The rest helps everyone know where to be and why.

  • Cover: Hover Change cover and select Import file or Pick from inventory
  • Title: Required
  • Start date and End date: Required
  • Full day: Turn it on for an event without set times. Turn it off to add a Start time and End time
  • Repeat: Does not repeat, Daily, Every weekday (Mon–Fri), Weekly, Every 2 weeks, Monthly on this date, Monthly on this weekday, Yearly on this date, or Custom…
  • Add to calendar: The calendar the event shows on
  • Location: Type one, or select one you've used before
  • Room: Type one, or select one you've used before. Not shown for an online location
  • Participants: Add team members. Hover + next to it and select Connect data source, like a table of people, Import file or Pick from inventory
  • Details: Anything else. Long details are shortened, with Read more to see all of them
  • Notify me of updates: Turn it off to stop getting notifications about this event, like reminders, comments and changes. It's your own setting, so it doesn't change anyone else's. If someone mentions you, you're still told
  • Comments: Talk about the event with your team, once it's saved
  • Tasks: Click Add reference to link tasks to the event

Changing An Event

Click an event in any view, or on a timeline, to open it and change it. For a repeating event, select under Changes apply to whether the change is for Just this one, This and the ones after or The whole series.

Deleting An Event

Open the event and click Delete event. You can't undo it.
