Comments & Mentions

Bring the right people into a conversation, and point them to exactly what you mean. Type @ to mention a person, or # to link to a project, an element, a task, an event, a meeting or an inventory item.

How It Works

When you type @ or #, a list opens:

  • @: The people in your team and project
  • #: The elements in your project, grouped by page, and its tasks, events, meetings and inventory items

Select one, and it's added to your text. In conversations, posts and messages, an inventory item you select with # is added as a file instead of a link.

You can mention and link in conversations, posts and messages, in the Task, Event and Meeting windows, and in the To Do List, To Do Kanban, Table, Budget Sheet, Inventory List, Shopping Selection, Tracking List, User Feedback, Storyboard and Text Editor elements.

Mentioning A Person

When you mention someone with @, their name is highlighted in your text, and they get a notification for mentions in conversations, posts, messages, comments, and the To Do List, To Do Kanban, Budget Sheet, Inventory List, Shopping Selection, Tracking List, User Feedback and Storyboard elements. Mention someone when you need them to see something or answer you, so a mention always means something.

Linking To An Element

When you link to an element with #, it becomes a link in your text. Click it to go to the element. In a long text, it saves your team looking for what you mean, like "see the analysis in #Q3 Report".

Comments In Projects

To talk about something on a project page, right-click next to it to start a conversation there. See Element Conversations.

Tasks have comments of their own, in the Task window. It opens from a To Do List, To Do Kanban, Content Calendar or Timeline, a task in a Table, and the Calendar page.

For a discussion that concerns the whole team, not one project, write a post on the Team page. See Team Posts.
