Project Budget Status Chart

See how much of your budget is spent and how much is left, and which categories the money goes to, in a chart that follows your Budget Sheet, Table or Tracking List. When the numbers change in the source, the chart updates.

Adding A Project Budget Status Chart

  1. Click on the project page where you want the Project Budget Status Chart to be added, and type / to open the element menu
  2. Search for Project Budget Status Chart
  3. Select it to add it to the page

Adding A Data Source

The chart shows your budget once you've connected the element it's in.

  1. Click Choose Data Source
  2. Select a Budget Sheet, Table or Tracking List
  3. Click Connect

To connect a different one later, hover + on the chart and select Update data source.

What The Chart Shows

Connected to a Budget Sheet, the chart shows:

  • How much of the budget is left, at the top. When you've spent more than the budget, it shows how much you're over instead
  • Your income, your budget and what you've spent so far, with a bar showing how much of the budget is spent
  • What each category has spent against its own budget, one bar per category. A bar changes colour when its category goes over budget. Spending in a category without a budget shows not budgeted, and lines without a category are grouped under No category

To see one month, select it in the Whole Project chip beside the title. The chart then only counts the Budget Sheet lines with that Budget month.

Using A Project Budget Status Chart As A Data Source

A Table can show the chart, and a To Do List, To Do Kanban, Content Calendar or Timeline can add it to a task. Hover + on the chart and select Copy connection ID to find it quickly in their list. They update when the chart changes.
