Table
Keep any list with rows and columns, like a shot list, a vendor comparison, a guest list or a crew list. Each column has a type, so dates, amounts, people and links look and behave the way they should.
Adding A Table
- Click on the project page where you want the Table to be added, and type / to open the element menu
- Search for Table
- Select it to add it to the page
Column Types
A column's type decides what goes in its cells: a date picker in a Date column, a person from the project in a User column, an amount in its currency in a Currency column. Click the icon next to a column's name to change its type.
- Text, Number and Currency
- Date, Date Range, Time, Time Range and Date & Time
- Weather
- Checkbox and Radio
- User: Someone on the project
- Email, URL and Address
- Tags and Select
- File
Rows And Columns
Right-click a cell to add a row above or below it, delete its row, or make the row a group header to split the table into sections. From the same menu, you can also add a file from your inventory to the cell, or link the cell to a conversation.
Right-click a column's header to add a column to its left or right, or delete it.
Formulas
A formula works something out from other cells and updates when they do. There are five:
- SUM: Adds up the cells
- AVERAGE: The average of the cells
- MIN: The smallest of the cells
- MAX: The largest of the cells
- COUNT: How many of the cells have a number in them
To add one:
- Type = in a Number or Currency cell and select a formula
- Click the cells it should use, holding ⌘ / Ctrl to add more
- Press Enter
Adding A Data Source
Hover + and select Connect data source to show rows from another element, in this project or any project of your team. To fill a single cell, row or column, right-click it and select Connect data source. What a Table shows from another element updates when the source does.
A column can also show something from another element in every row: an Inventory Item, Task, Event or Meeting, or an Inventory List, Meeting List, Tracking List, Shopping Selection, User Feedback, Timeline, Content Calendar, Mindmap, Moodboard, Storyboard, Whiteboard, Budget Chart, Status Chart, Payment Chart or Tickets Chart. Select it as the column's type.
To bring in a file, hover + and select Import file to import a CSV, XLSX or XLS file.
Using A Table As A Data Source
Almost every element can take its data from a Table, from charts and lists to a Moodboard or a Storyboard. See What Elements Can Connect To. Hover + on the table and select Copy connection ID to find it quickly in their list. When something is connected to the table, a small dot shows next to Full view. Click it to see what's connected.
Client Approval
When you send the page to a client in a client revision, they can approve single rows or the whole table.
Export Your Table
Click the download icon in the table's toolbar. The formats are:
- CSV
- XLSX
- JSON
