Timeline
See your project's events, tasks and meetings on a timeline on the project page, with a row for each person, so you can see who's doing what and when. It shows what's in the project's calendar without you having to connect anything.
The Calendar page has a Timeline view too. Use the Calendar page to plan across your projects, and the Timeline element to keep one project's schedule on its page. See Calendar Overview.
Adding A Timeline
- Click on the project page where you want the Timeline to be added, and type / to open the element menu
- Search for Timeline
- Select it to add it to the page
Adding And Changing Items
Events have their own row at the top, and below it, every person has a row with the tasks and meetings they're responsible for, with an Unassigned row for the rest.
To add something, click a day in a row and select Task, Event or Meeting, and the person whose row it is is filled in for you. You can also press ⌥ / Alt + E, ⌥ / Alt + T or ⌥ / Alt + M to add one for today. Drag an item along the timeline to change its dates, or onto someone else's row to make them responsible. Click an item to open it, and click its colour dot to change its colour. Completed tasks are marked as done.
Every change is saved on the event, task or meeting itself, so it shows the same on the Calendar page and everywhere else.
Adding A Data Source
Hover + and select Connect data source to add something from another element to tasks on the timeline, like a shot from a Storyboard, a line from a Budget Sheet or a whole Moodboard. Select a single item or the whole element, then select the tasks to add it to, and click Connect. See What Elements Can Connect To for every element you can add.
Using A Timeline As A Data Source
A Project Status Chart, Meeting List or Table can show the timeline's items, and a To Do List or To Do Kanban can show its tasks. Hover + on the timeline and select Copy connection ID to find it quickly in their list. They update when the timeline changes.
