To Do Kanban
See where every task stands at a glance. Each task is a card in a column, like To do, In progress or Done, and you move it to the next column as the work moves on.
Adding A To Do Kanban
- Click on the project page where you want the To Do Kanban to be added, and type / to open the element menu
- Search for To Do Kanban
- Select it to add it to the page
Setting Up The Kanban
A new kanban starts with the columns To do, In progress and Done. Name them after your own stages, like Brief, Concepts, Approved and Delivered: click a column's title to rename it. Click + between two columns to add a column there, and the X on a column to delete it.
Cards
Each card is a task with a title, a status (Not started, Started, Risk, Roadblock, Completed, Overdue or Cancelled) and a responsible person.
Click Add card in a column, or press N, to add a card. To add one next to a card, hover the card and click the + above or below it. Drag a card to another column as the work moves on.
To see all of a card's details, like its due date and description, double-click it, or press Enter on a selected card. See Tasks.
Lists
A To Do Kanban can have more than one list, each with its own columns and cards, like one per phase of the project. Click Lists at the top to switch between them, add one with Add list, or delete one. Click a list's title to rename it.
A new To Do Kanban starts with three lists, Today, Tomorrow and Next week, which show the cards due then. Today also keeps the cards that are past their due date until they're done. Rename one of them, and it becomes a list like any other.
Adding A Data Source
Hover + at the top and select Connect data source. Tasks from a calendar, To Do List, another To Do Kanban or a Timeline, and the items in a Shopping Selection, Tracking List, Client Revisions List or Table, show as cards next to yours. From any other element, like a Moodboard or a Budget Sheet, what you select is added to the cards you select. They update when the source does.
To bring in cards from a file, hover + and select Import file to import a CSV, XLSX or XLS file. A card whose Column or Status matches a column's name goes in that column.
Using A To Do Kanban As A Data Source
A Project Status Chart, Mindmap, Table, To Do List or another To Do Kanban can show the cards. Hover + on the kanban and select Copy connection ID to find it quickly in their list. They update when the kanban changes.
Notifications
When a card moves to Risk, Overdue, Roadblock or Cancelled, or is Completed, its responsible person and the team's admins get a notification, unless they made the change themselves.
Client Approval
When you send the page to a client in a client revision, they can approve single cards or the whole kanban.
Export Your To Do Kanban
