Video
Play a video right on your project page, like a reference clip, a cut for your client to review, or a storyboard played as an animatic.
Adding A Video
Add a video from YouTube or Vimeo, or one of your own.
- Click on the project page where you want the Video to be added, and type / to open the element menu
- Search for Video
- Select it to add it to the page
- Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link and click Add link, or hover + and select Import file to upload a video, or Pick from inventory to add one you've already uploaded
Every plan can upload MP4 and WebM files. Studio can also upload MOV and AVI files, and Pro MKV files too. A MOV, AVI or MKV file is turned into an MP4 when you upload it, so it plays in every browser, and both files are kept in your inventory. How big and how long a video can be depends on your plan. See Subscription Plans.
To replace the video, like with a new cut, click the pen icon (Change video). The Video stays in the same place on the page.
Playing The Video
Use the player's buttons to play and pause, change the speed, mute, go full screen or watch in a small window while you work. For a video you've uploaded, the keys are in Keyboard Shortcuts.
Adding A Data Source
Hover +, select Update data source and connect a Storyboard to play it as an animatic: the Video plays the storyboard's frames in order, with their timing. It updates when the storyboard does. From the same window, you can also paste a new YouTube or Vimeo link, or select a Table cell with a video link.
Using A Video As A Data Source
A Storyboard, Moodboard or Table can show the video, and a To Do List, To Do Kanban, Content Calendar or Timeline can add it to a task. Hover + on the Video and select Copy connection ID to find it quickly in their list. They update when the video changes.
Client Approval
When you send the page to a client in a client revision, they can approve the video.
